Hi Joseph, Welcome to Timeline. Be sure to also check out Exhibit, depending on your goals, it may be a better solution.
To solve the problem with the events file not being found, first check to see what url is being requested. Use the firebug network tab for that. Here's a screencast that may help: www.sandbox.kluger.com/timeline_firebug Regards, Larry ________________________________ From: Joseph Marlin <[email protected]> To: SIMILE Widgets <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, March 24, 2009 3:09:01 PM Subject: Timeline set up correctly, but not showing events Hello, I am trying to set up one of these nice timelines. First, I decided to attempt to clone an already functioning. I figure then I can tailor it to my own needs. I am trying to get this one: - http://simile-widgets.googlecode.com/svn/timeline/tags/latest/src/webapp/examples/jfk/jfk.html -working on my local server. Mac OS X MAMP for local server I have been able to get the timeline to properly start. It makes the timeline and the timeline is functional, that is, it can scroll back and forth and such. However, what it does not do properly is display any events. I am assuming that it is connecting to the xml file that holds the events, since when I delete that, it gives an error that says it couldn't find the xml events file. So I guess my question is why isn't it displaying the events on the timeline? My file structure is thus main directory -timeline.html -events.xml -api directory --images directory --scripts directory --timeline-api.js Hopefully I made this clear enough. Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate it. =] --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SIMILE Widgets" group.
