Greetings all,

I'm pleased to let this group know of a formative coalition that is gelling
this week around web 2.0 for civic engagement and specifically seeking to
create a prototype that integrates relevant information related to the Recovery
and Reinvestment Act (the stimulus package).

The blog site (pre-launch) is at: http://www.opendialogcoalition.org/OPIA/

We'll be using the SIMILE widgets as the initial technology, and we've
developed a larger architecture to house the widgets that gives users better
control over 1) selecting the relevant widget (timeline, map, etc) AND the
relevant source of data (e.g. drawn from blog posts at a particular site, other
RSS streats, etc). We are planning to "chunk" the data based on several
supported "frameplates" (see the site to explanations), so that only a
reasonable amount of data is exposed to the browser and user and JSON or XML
feeds to the end-user.

I suspect the architecture may be of broader use and if you think it would work
for YOUR project, please join in the fun and help us develop it further. It is
all work that will be in the open, and freely available. Eventually, I intend
to focus on the "video" aspects, connecting streams of video from different
sources (lenses) about the same thing (topic) in an integrated way (frameplate).

If anybody on this list is interested to learn more or participate, please
contact me. We'll probably launch at this week or soon thereafter.

Thanks!
 - Dazza

Hi, Larry
can you update example 3 ?
I´ve included a few more things that are regularly asked here, using
only css, namely :

# Change font color of the day in the bottom with css class 'timeline-
date-label'
# Text in top of bars, instead of bottom
# Text inside bars
# Bars with rounded corners, only in Firefox

I will send it to your email.

Thanks
