Yes, in theory ... you can see that the millions of years here run backward:

What you need to do is override various methods in the NativeDateUnit
class in this file
http://api.simile-widgets.org/ajax/2.2.1/scripts/units.js
In toNumber, return -v.getTime()
In fromNumber, return new Date(-n);
In compare, return n2 - n1
In change, return new Date(v.getTime() - n)
I think that should make your timeline runs in reverse. But if you
happen to disrupt the space/time continuum and open a worm hole to a
parallel universe, or discover anti-time, I'm not responsible ...
