I am also seeing the same problem. I switched my site to 2.2 in order for IE8 to work, but now, IE7 fails due to the inability to render lens withing a tabular view.
The error I get is: "Caught exception: undefined" "Details: Could not get the display property. Invalid argument." As stated by CalvinHobbs, it works fine in Firefox (FF3) and Safari.
