Hi Bill,

there are a few CMS plugins out there:

# Drupal: http://drupal.org/project/timeline
# Wordpress: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-simile-timeline/
# Joomla: http://www.artetics.com/ARTools/art-timeline /
http://neokortex.pytalhost.de/community/index.php?option=com_remository

I was just reprogramming Drupal's timeline module and it might help you.
You can use the CMS Drupal to create/configure timelines and use the
contents (with date fields) to fill the timeline easily with data.
I haven't tried the other CMS' timeline modules, but they might help you
to get done what you want.

Cheers,
Felix
