Greetings,

Since our beta release last month, we've been working on some of the
issues that surfaced as well as addressing some foundational needs in
Backstage. This will be a brief update.

We've updated Backstage to work with the latest Butterfly, now over at
Google Code, which is the basis for Google Refine. Those of you who
enjoy both Exhibit and Refine may find this change opens up some
interesting possibilities for fitting them together. Do let us know if
that sort of thing interests you.

Backstage is a Java project and utilizes Maven for its compilation.
We've placed a number of its dependencies in Maven Central to avoid the
need to run our own Maven repository and are on our way to seeing all of
its dependencies placed in Central.

Also, we're quite happy to have merged in our first GitHub pull request
recently for adding a facet and a view, thanks to Axel Hecht.

We're currently working on known issues continuing to expand the feature
set of both Backstage and Scripted. Keep an eye on the GitHub issues
lists and the continuous integrator if you want more details.
