The original Babel and Painter services were launched and hosted at the MIT simile.mit.edu site in connection with the SIMILE research project. These have long been replaced by equivalents at service.simile-widgets.org. This is a notice that MIT intends to decommission the former services in the coming weeks. Users are encouraged to cut over to the simile-widgets services at their earliest convenience.
