That's a great idea, I like it. For Amazon EC2, that would be an Amazon Machine Image (AMI). Backstage runs on Butterfly, which is already suited to run on Google App Engine, so that's another possible avenue to explore. I don't have time to look into these right now, but if someone wants to run with the idea of building less developer-oriented options, that would be an awesome contribution.
