Timeplot isn't really designed to do computation, only display. So the easiest approach is probably to pre-compute over your data, translating each date/time into a "canonical" date-time on a fixed day (ie, throw out the true date and replace it with 01-01-2000 for example).

I've done some googling around and haven't see anything similar to what I want.

I'm interested in using Timeplot strictly for hour range plotting. Namely I'm going to look at a bunch of date/time events and "throw away" the dates. The date is not important, only the hour at which it happened. In effect, I'll be creating a histogram of a 24 hour time period.

Is that doable? If so, how so?
