I'm developing a new site, and I've come up against a few oddities that I'm
hoping someone will be able/willing to help me with. I've searched the
forum and have tried a variety of options, but am so far unsuccessful...

I'm using Exhibit 3, with tile, timeline and map views.

1. I would like to put some specific text on the timeline and map views. To
see the problem that I've having, if you load the page, it defaults to the
tile view. When you select either the "timeline" or the "map," the
appropriate text is shown. Good. However, when you then select the other
view, both texts are shown and they persist until the entire view is reset.

2. I notice that when using a filter, the timeline will recenter to include
only the items included within that filter, but the map does not. Is there
a way to address this?

3. Is there a slider option for the timeline? I'd like to make it as
intuitive as possible, and I think that a slider along the bottom would
help in this area.

4. Has anyone had any luck creating a custom timeline within Exhibit 3? I
have tried several different ways, including:
a) "timelineConfig" as described here:
http://simile-widgets.org/wiki/How_to_control_a_timeline_from_within_Exhibit

b) "timelineConstructor":
http://simile-widgets.org/wiki/Exhibit/Timeline_View

The main reason that I need to customize the timeline is that I really want
the timeline to automatically center on either the first date in my JSON
file, or on the center of the events, rather than the last date as the
default does.

My test page is live here:

Any help is appreciated!
