A more robust solution is to leave out the protocol, so it inherits
whatever is in the containing page:

//www.simile-widgets.org/styles/common.css and
//api.simile-widgets.org/exhibit/current/extensions/map/map-extension.js

The browser is blocking the content because you are mixing the

Hi,
I have been working on creating a map with exhibit and have some problems
displaying my website in different browsers. I hosted the site with Google
Drive and it will only load in Safari, not Firefox or Chrome. The local file
on my computer I can open with Firefox and Safari but not Chrome. Is there
anything that can be done to fix that? I am new to Exhibit and have never
worked with html before so I am struggling a lot with figuring out how to
fix this.

It will only load the map if I use Safari.
Also: The map takes very long to load. I assume that's because I have a lot
of locations that are displayed. I would like to add even more places to the
map (then I would have about 5000 in total) but when I do it loads super
slow. Is there anything I can do to speed it up?
