Hi all,

I have a need to accept input from various sources (like SNMP traps, syslog,
log files etc) and send events to Netcool Network Management system. I am
currently using LooperNG (muthanna.com/looperng) for accepting events from
multiple sources and forwarding to one or more destinations, including Netcool
SNMP and Syslog probes.

LooperNG lacks event correlation capability and was thinking that SEC can fill
that role along with LooperNG....

One way of doing the integration would be to make
  1. LooperNG to accept SNMP traps, logs etc
  2. LooperNG to send output to a pipe
  3. SEC to pick up from the pipe of 2) above
  4. Once SEC processes it, to send it to another pipe
  5. From the pipe 4) above, LooperNG would pick it up and send to multiple
destinations....
It seems to be a convoluted way to do it, but may work...

Has anybody tried out such an integration? What are my other options...
I am sure that there will be multiple uses/users of an integrated SEC +
LooperNG model

Thanks
Lakshman.
