Aye! Agn, bad assumption on my part. I assumed syslog-ng would queue  
while the receiving end was offline. Whatever msgs didn't fit into the  
queue would drop onto the floor.

Time for me to reread the docs.

No Cisco in the pipeline, and the last msg storm was brought about by  
an errant ldap configuration.
