If you are talking about 24 hours starting from a particular moment, you could
create a Calendar rule which creates a context at this moment for 24 hours, and
then have a Suppress rule which matches only if the context exists. Note that
you don't need to restart SEC which will drop all internal event correlation
state, but you can just send the ABRT signal to the SEC process which only
cancels event correlation operations related to the modified rule file.

Hi,
I am trying to figure out if there's a way to quiesce an event for xxx amount
of time.
We have a failed drive that are being worked on, but in the mean time the
system is still sending snmp traps, so I would like to suppress them for the
day so it reduces the noise..
I know I can change the windows=86400 and restart SEC, but is wondering if
there's a better way.
