Question:  I understand it when you say that we are already in heaven and we just accept it. I don't understand how to accept it without the retraining of my thoughts.

===================
Pertaining to your question, there are two views (obviously)...one of reality, and one of illusion that we've come to regard as reality. For us, in our day to day doings, this world seems quite real, completely regardless of any spiritual rhetoric about illusion, heaven, etc. I do not suggest that you deny what is right before your eyes. My saying it is unreal does not mean that. The vision we are accustomed to is entirely involved in images and concepts and feelings and situations. To be immediately without these, we would seem quite lost. This is specifically because we are conditioned to try to look with the body's unreal eyes, try to hear with the body's unreal ears...and while perception is employed, we will continue to do this. There is nothing wrong with that, and you do not need to change it. In fact, you cannot change it, because it is not real, and because perception's nature is to perpetuate itself by distracting and deceiving your mind...it is your own mind trick of denial. You can make it appear to change and believe you changed it, just as much as you could make it appear in the first place.

Despite the fact I just said you do not need to change it, its appearance before you is inappropriate and that vision must be let go of. The question then, is how to do so. You...meaning the false self-view we tend to believe is our self...cannot change it, because that "you" is also not real. The real you cannot change it, because it cannot see it in the first place in order to change it, because the real you sees wholly only or only that which is real. Quite a dilemma. Inappropriate in this case simply means it is unreal, or unwhole, or without true and faithful constant foundation.

To accept the idea that you are in heaven does not mean to believe that idea, for to believe that idea is no different than to believe any other idea. Belief is simply the result of choosing, and there is nothing choosable (multiples) to choose. Whatever seems to be choosable, is not real...and if we're talking "about" something that IS real, then the seemingly choosable object of choice is not the reality itself, but is a false mental copy (which is choosable in perception's view, and yet really is not because neither the false self (chooser) nor the falsely viewed choice are real).

The real you has no need to choose, nor has it any need to change what is not there. Nevertheless, the perceptual dilemma appears day in and day out. You do not need to try to get rid of it, it is okay as it is. However, it can help to understand just how it came to be that you experience this dilemma of perception. To make it short and sweet, you attempted to deny the vision (or report from soul) of your true self. This cannot be accomplished, but the mind sends ideas (either the single whole thought, or divided partial thoughts) to soul (vision function and more) in all that it attempts (desires). Soul dutifully multiplies this back to vision. When denial is the desire, the desire is unwhole...which is to say one attempts to focus on and to offer more attention to one part of the whole, and less to the rest. Thus denial, via the soul's function, attempts to negate self, and while it cannot do it, the request to see this (desire) is sent to soul. Soul cannot multiply what is not there, and yet must give you the vision you (think you) want. Thus soul gives you false witnesses of appearance...images, idols, appearance of a limited body and its sensually perceived world. Biblically, this is making unto oneself graven images and worshipping them. This seeming perceptual process in vision is the dilemma made manifest...where the attempt to split attention (judge/choose) that cannot be literally split, made counterfeit partial idea images to satisfy the false requests of denial. This cascades into beliefs, feelings and so on to lock these in place. It is not important to grasp these details and they could be explained in many other ways that might not sound like this at all.

The point is that the error was in attempting to judge, choose, decide, deny....all different aspects of the same thing. Biblically, this is partaking of the tree of the (false) knowledge of good and evil, which generated the (false) laws of good and evil, by which the idea of condemnation arose, generating guilt, reprisal, attack, and so on. Biblically, sin came by the law. [
Note: I mention biblical references from time to time, not because Christian ideas are correct, but to clarify those ideas extant in the Bible, and to illustrate that there is something to them, even if not what is so often taught.]

Since this is what the error was, then correcting it is a simple thing. We attempted to choose and the resultant vision from soul was something we did not like. That is, denial made manifest is unfaithful and eventually disappointing and painful when viewed (i.e.-perception). We did not DO what our visual anomalies reported regarding our false ideation when we thought we could deny self. However, we did vex soul in its vision-producing such that it offered idols...all quite aside from our ongoing whole, true vision of self. This "vanity and vexation of spirit" is an invention to prove denial is real, and it effectively cloaks our true vision by distracting our attention further...for that is what our denial was, a request for the distraction of false witnesses, for true witnesses cannot distract. All very cosmic or complex sounding, and it is also unnecessary to grasp the details (which could be said many ways).

Accepting the atonement is accepting the truth...and has to do with accepting that we are in heaven right now. As I said earlier, this does not mean to believe it. Instead, it means to not resist the idea that this is true, and thus be open to have it revealed to you. So then, how to have it revealed to you is the question. If the dilemma arose from attempting to deny self, generating a false vision, consider that NOT attempting to deny self should generate a true vision. The false vision and its progenetor (the attempt to deny) is a choice, and because choice is impossible, attempting to choose is denial of the truth of your wholeness. That being the case, NOT attempting to choose equates to the denial of denial...or not denying any longer...or expressing in terms of "I do not want to see visions of denial anymore."

However, we are so conditioned to the tendency to choose in all things, just stopping is impossible. To choose to stop choosing is still choosing. Instead, simply be willing to look wholly upon yourself (note that willingness to look is not a choice, even though to the perceiving mind it seems to be one). As you look as best you can and as wholly as you can, this sends the message of "the desire to see wholly" to soul. Soul immediately multiplies this back to you as whole vision. The dilemma is deeper than that however, and as this whole vision ushered into the counterfeit agrees with the true vision (and thus does not resist seeing it), it meets up with your belief system, conditioned responses to look falsely, believe instead of know, feel feelings instead of joy, do instead of be, experience instead of extend love. In reality, you do not do this, but in your counterfeit copies from soul, your idol field of battle, you truly seem to. So you do know all things, you do see wholly, but your denial presents you with these blocks to seeing love (self). Looking at self (reality) offers soul (the holy spirit of you) your willing attention (love) to multiply to vision...and the false vision begins to rearrange, your understanding begins to shift, your belief system begins to align to these alignments in mind (miracles). In perception, this will seem like time-based learning, progressing, and then unlearning as more and more error (partial attention) is undone. In reality, you are already here in heaven, looking upon the father expressing as the son (holy spirit of the truth of love arising from peace in joy). As the visions from denial fade, this becomes more and more clear in mind until it is perfectly clear and the dream and its time passes away. This so-called second coming of Christ (your own real self) is hoped for and expected in the perceiving mind as a wonderful perceptual shift into newer and better images and concepts, and indeed, this happens. But....but....these images and concepts are but a happier dream...for the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, nor images and false feelings and grandly structured ideas...it is the return to your home from which you never really left, the return to the unfathomable peace of God (unfathomable to perception)...to the peace of your own true self. Know the truth and the truth shall set you free indeed. Look. Become aware that you see what you know, making choosing and dreaming unnecessary and obviating the impossibility of these...which then wipes them and their tears from your mind.
