Hi there,
Probaby someone else has posted a message replying to this, but
have you checked your DNS settings? You won't be able to access your mail
server by the same name as your web server. You need to make an MX Record
which corresponds to your mail server's IP (the same as your web server if
you have SIMS on the same machine as your web server). Once you have your
DNS correct, if there's still some problem then you know to look elsewhere.
As you can log in via IP addresses, it looks as though DNS is probably the
culprit.
