Hi, (Second topic) I'm happily running SIMS 1.8b8 since I've recently switched from EIMS 1.3.1. Overall I'm very pleased with SIMS. I have a few POP users, but the main use for my SIMS server is to be used with Macjordomo for several small mailing lists. The largest has a few hundred subscribers, and list traffic isn't usually more than 20 or 30 messages per day. SIMS handles this nicely. On the other hand, I'd be happy to tune up the server a little bit for speed, if possible. Given that I've only got a dozen or two POP mail boxes, and that the ratio of incoming mail to outgoing mail is about 1:300, does anyone have any recommendations about where my POP and SMTP settings should be? We use the PWD function very rarely, should I give it 0 channels? We use the Notify feature not at all, should I turn it off as well? Also, as far as SIMS itself, I have not converted it to be a background-only app. Is there any particular advantage to this? I use the KIU utility, does this have any bearing on the question? And, whether SIMS is a regular app, or a background-only app, what are recommendations for its memory partition? Currently I have it set at 8MB, and it seems to only be using a fraction of that. Speaking of memory, does it make much of a difference with SIMS if I have virtual memory on or off? I'm currently running on an 8100 with 90MB ram and OS 9.1, I'll probably be switching to a 7600 soon. Thanks for any tips. -Steve ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
