Hi all,

This is my first post, so please be gentle... ;-)

I have set up Autoshare with SIMS and it seems that just about everything is working
(sub, unsub, sending message, etc) except for the bounce feature. When a bad address
causes a message to bounce it should be automatically removed from the mailing list,
but it isn't.

It appears that SIMS is bouncing the message like it's supposed to when sent to a
dummy account ([EMAIL PROTECTED]):

>13:32:23 5 ROUTER Input: nobody(pwiworks.org)
>13:32:23 5 ROUTER Parser: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -> nobody(pwiworks.org)
>13:32:23 2 SYSTEM [S.0000041334] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2+0
>From:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
>13:32:27 1 SYSTEM(SMTP) [S.0000041334] failed on (pwiworks.org)nobody. Error
>Code=-15004
>13:32:27 5 ROUTER Input: postmaster(lists.pwiworks.org)
>13:32:27 5 ROUTER Parser: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ->
>postmaster(lists.pwiworks.org)
>13:32:27 5 ROUTER Input: postmaster()
>13:32:27 5 ROUTER Parser: postmaster -> postmaster()
>13:32:27 2 SYSTEM [S.0000041344] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 0+1
>From:NULL@NULL
>13:32:27 2 SYSTEM(POP) [S.0000041344] delivered to (postmaster)

I was also having trouble with Autoshare mailbacks, but only with SIMS (e.g. it worked
with EIMS). Unless the reply code was sent all by itself (i.e. not quoting the entire
confirmation message) Autoshare was unable to verify the confirmation message.

I don't have enough experience with this to be able to tell where things are breaking
down, but I'm assuming that it has something to do with the message format. Could
Autoshare be choking on multipart messages?

>Content-Type: multipart/report; report-type=delivery-status;
> boundary="_=receipt=_=41344=_"

Autoshare logs aren't helping me at all since there is no reference at all to the
bounced message. It just disappears from the Bounce folder without a clue as to how
Autoshare is handling it. I've already e-mailed the autoshare list twice with no
response so I am dead in the water until I figure this one out.

My first thought was that I need to use EIMS with Autoshare but I seem to remember
hearing about EIMS (freeware) not being able to block an open relay.
