I just had a kick in the head and had a revelation, it may be old to some but I am excited about this feature that can now be exploited. Any I am having a problem initially, and maybe there is some syntax I can do to get this to work.
Let's say I download some software and they want an email address but you are not sure where this email address will end up. I have discovered a way to track this efficiently. <*SPAM> = SPAM I have a local account named SPAM. Now when I go to Iomega to download their software, I can give them an address of [EMAIL PROTECTED] and so on for other sites. The router will route all mail that contains SPAM to the local account. The RFC headers of the email do indicate the original recipient so it can be traced to where that address went to. Pretty neat, but hear is the problem..... The router loops over and over and fails that the internal hop count is too big. To me it looks like because the word SPAM is the local name too. I would like to keep the account name because I have more accounts I would like to do this to but cannot change the account name, for example <PGa*> = PGalati Sometimes when I give people my email address, they end up with PGaloty or any variety of possibilities. The above entry tries to help but fails with the loop problem. Now SIMS is actually used as a publically seen mail server that auto delivers mail to another mail server that is on a private IP segment. So I have to correct the above router to say: <PGa*> = [EMAIL PROTECTED] This does work, but now I cannot get mail to be saved in a local pop account because of the router entry. I have a local account called PGalati that is to store in mailbox, but this does not happen. Confused? I hope not. In essence I want to have mail stored in a local account, because it is already being forwarded by the Mirror to List option. But the name needs to be close. Any assistance would be super.
