I am changing ISPs, and am migrating between IPs. I plan to set up a 2nd machine running SIMS on the new IP, and leave the old one on the old IP. My intent is to change the DNS to point to the new IP, and set the old server's router to send everything to the new server. However, since the DNS will be changing, can I safely put:
smtp.IPaddress rather than smtp.DNSaddress? Also, as long as I am setting up a new server, is there any reason I should move beyond the 1.8b8 that I am running now? (What is it up to b9d11?). Are there any compelling reasons to go to the latest version? I think the only things I might be interested in would be better applescript support, but I don't think that has been done yet. I don't do blacklists, so are there any other "features" that are of benifit?
