The first suggestion, which doesn't do anything directly for the 'name not
recognized' problem, is that you should upgrade SIMS to 1.8b8 as soon as
possible on both your own and your clients' systems. Even though it's a
'beta', it's been around for at least a year and has proved to be rock solid.
It has a few important anti-spam features that will help keep your server(s)
from being blacklisted. Look for it at <ftp://ftp.stalker.com/pub/>.

As to your immediate problem, it shouldn't make any difference that you don't
have ASIP on the same machine as SIMS. In fact, I'd think that would be a
positive. It sounds like SIMS doesn't have a local account or any router entry
that matches the address being sent to. My first inclination would be to check
that either the 'Internet Domain Name' in SIMS' general settings is the same
as in the recipient address, or that you have a router entry that makes the
domain in the address into a 'local' domain. If that all looks good,
double-check that the username in the recipient address matches the user
account that you've created in SIMS. I'm sure you've probably already looked
at those things, but it never hurts to check.
