Yes. Make sure you turn off the mail server bits of AppleShare before you try to start SIMS. I don't know if the current 4D has such things as well, but they'd need to be off also. You will also need to make sure any web interfaces to all of the above do not conflict. SIMS uses port 8010 by default, but can be changed if necessary. >4. How do I know if the Application was converted to a background >App. Simple: you don't do that, so you never have the question. The reason I say that is because I've run into stability trouble every time I've tried it, although I confess that I haven't tried since 1.7. Then I realized that I was only trying to do that for the coolness of it, and that it really reduced flexibility. ( you can tell that it has worked because after conversion you can double-click SIMS and the icon will go grainy as with running apps, but there will be nothing in the apps menu for SIMS.) >5. Is there a way to get the old AppleShare IP 6.X Mail. Probably, and I hope some ASIP user here knows what it is. >6. Is there a management port that can be used with Eudora, or what >can be used for remote management. I'm not sure how you'd use Eudora as an admin app... However, remote admin is via a web interface on port 8010 by default or via AppleTalk program linking and the Stalker Communigator client. -- Bill Cole [EMAIL PROTECTED] ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
