Bounces and/or return receipts. If they get stuck in the queue, they
are probably aimed at bogus addresses.

Any mail generated by an MTA itself will have an empty sender, as
specified in RFC821 and its successors.

That depends on exactly what they are. You can end up with a lot of
undeliverable bounces if you are being used as a spam relay. It can
also be seen on a machine that forwards a lot of mail to other
places. The most common root cause of an undeliverable bounce (which
is just about everything you will see stuck in the Queue from
NULL@NULL ) is spam aimed at a bogus address anf from a bogus
address. reducing how much of these you handle (for example, by using
the Verify Return Paths option) will reduce how many of those bounces
you generate.
