I tried to install ListStar in order to prepare for my announcement-list to
increase from 700 to 25 000 receivers. I must be doing something wrong
because it's not working.
This is the set-up.
I have a DSL connection with a dynamic WAN IP-address and static LAN
IP-addresses.
Server one: SIMS on OS 8.6
Server two: ListStar and QuickMail on OS 8.6
I have a DSL connection with a dynamic IP-address.
I tried to configure the CommuniGator server to handle all incoming and
outgoing mail and thus replace the QuickMail-server. I also wanted to check
out the list-function.
Well, to be honest. I couldn't for my life configure the POP- and
user-accounts. The list functions seemed to have almost no configuration
alternatives. I could not even find a way to import addresses. Therefor I
left that solution.
Now I have tried to make SISM, ListStar and QuickMail work together.
I think my main problem is the configuration of ListStar.
I have created an announcement-list and given the "announcement public
address" the IP-addresse to my QuickMail-server as sending and receiving
host. The "announcement secret address" has my QuickMail Ip-address as
receiving host and my SIMS IP-address as sending host.
In QuickMail-server and ins SISM I have given the same hostname. Can this
have something to do with my problems?
I include a few lines of the mail I receive from ListStar.
Why is it interpreting my test mail as a wish to subscribe?
Isn't the right procedure as a moderator to post to the list sending a mail
to the "announcement public address" and to fill in the "announcement secret
addresses" in the BCC-field?
