We have been using SIMS for years and it works great most of the time.

There is a crash which we've seen before (and I think has been discussed on
this list).

The problem is that when a user account file is very large and/or has a very
large number of messages in it (not sure which) and that user connects to
check mail (even just using telnet), SIMS blocks all other tasks while it
scans through the mail file to count the messages.

This is normally not a problem as this does not take very long. When the
mail file is very large and/or contains many messages, this can take
minutes. Since we use a USB watchdog timer which restarts the machine after
5 minutes, this results in the machin restarting.

While SIMS is scanning the mail file, no other network connections are
accepted and no current network connections get any time.

Are there plans to correct this in a future version?
