We have a 350 Mhz G3 Blue & White and we have about 7500 mail accounts.
Until recently we were running on a machine with a G3 300 Mhz upgrade card
in it, but it started to get slow.
We had already put a fast scsi card in the older machine and gotten a big
fast hard drive.
Now that we've switched to the Blue and White, we're running MacOS 9.
Pre-MacOS 9 systems will have a limit to the number of files open at once
(384 if memory serves) which can limit the number of connections at one time
that SIMS can handle.
