I have now installed some software to monitor SIMS to find
out when it crashes running in the Classic environment
under OS X, and it found that if it does, it's always midnight.

Now, I remember someone else mentioned this same effect and
that he was trying to quit SIMS right before and relaunch it
right after midnight. How did this work out so far?

I had already made sure that no Sherlock or other automatic
processing (software update, etc.) would be allow to happen
in the OS 9 environment, by removing all such extensions.
But that did not help, apparently.

So, it might even be that this problem is caused by some of
the OS X's automatic processing, but I doubt that.

I like to assemble some more information on the systems of
the other persons who experience(d) crashes of SIMS at
midnight under OS X:

- which OS 9 version are you running (I run 9.1)?
- do you run any other Classic apps alongside (I run NonSequitur)
- Which OS X version? (I run 10.1.5 Server)

BTW, if I remember right, then these SIMS crashes only started
a few weeks ago to happen, after I might have installed new
software under OS X (server software, updates, ...). Not sure about
this, though.

One more question: Does anyone know if SIMS does some automatic
processing at midnight itself? I believe it does at least close the
current log and creates a new one - perhaps that could be causing the
trouble?
