Hi, I'm slowly working toward switching from webstar4 mail to SIMS, One reason is to enable virus scanning before the users get the emails.
I get the basic idea that SIMS uses several different folder, and that the anti-virus software can take whatever incoming mail is in one folder, scan it, and put all the safe emails into an 2nd folder or the email server to distribute. WebStar mail is running on a Mac 8600 and a Performa 6400, and several older Macs are also available to me in case I need more. If absolutely necessary I could get a G3 as well. Details: I am currently running 2 mail servers, for different companies. One handles email for about 40-60 people in the same company LAN, and the other one gives pop3 mail boxes to everyone in the 3 clubs it serves for (about 210). So those club members are using it for both sending & receiving, but from dynamic IP numbers. So WebStar is allowing them to send after checking mail. If I understand correctly, SIMS can do that too. My question is: =============== What else (besides SIMS) do I need or want to accomplish this? I'm sure there are different ways to go, so if people reply to me off list, I promise to summarize the results back to this list. TIA Best, Dave Nathanson Mac Medix ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
