FYI: I run SIMS 1.8b8 under OS 9.2.2, which runs in the Classic environment of a OS X.1.5 machine (a 500 MHz G3 CPU in a PM 7600)
I see SIMS freeze in certain situations: a) When I quit SIMS, if freezes the Classic env very often. b) When I run Macjordomo (Classic OS version) on the same machine, I get freezes often around midnight. When I run Macjordomo on a different machine but with same polling intervals, I do NOT get these freezes at midnight. In summary: As long as I do not run Macjordomo on the same machine and do not quit SIMS, SIMS does not appear to cause trouble. I also found (using MacsBug) that SIMS freezes in a subroutine that appears to wait for closing of certain streams. And that I can quite safely kill (that is, Force Quit it, or use the Macsbug cmd "ES") SIMS and restart it to make it work again without any apparent side effects.
