It would be enough if SIMS had a toggle for this.  Mail claiming to be 
from mail.hotmail.com that resolved to foo.barr would be rejected, but 
mail that claimed to be from mail.hotmail.com and was from 
foo.hotmil.com would not.

I certainly wouldn't want a broken SMTP that rejected mail because the 
server names didn't match exactly.

I don't know why you would assume that.  SIMS has had numerous versions 
in the last couple of years, they've just all ben betas or 
beta-development versions.
