SMTP: The letter body is rejected by host
Host 'mx1.mail.yahoo.com' says:
552 Put ,E=\r\n at the end of Mether, Mtcp, or Msmtp in sendmail.cf if you are using Solaris 2.5 (fixed in 2.5.1). I cannot accept messages with stray newlines. Many SMTP servers will time out waiting for \r\n.\r\n.

Is Yahoo's new server definitely broken?

No.

That is actually a very helpful response to a real flaw in some sendmail configurations, notably the one that Sun shipped as default in Solaris 2.5...

Why SIMS would be poking that error detection is a puzzle. The root cause is 'stray linefeeds' in messages: a plain LF where CRLF is proper. SIMS shouldn't ever be doing that.
