Following a lengthy interrogation involving rubber hoses and a "Yanni Live" CD, the suspect revealed that on 3/16/03 12:28 PM, Bill Cole at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Yeah, I was trying to enable my clients to do their own outbound SMTP as well as POP, but it looks like I will have to let their ISP handle the outbound SMTP and use SIMS for everything else. They are on a dynamic IP with an alleged "six-month lease" from Comcast, so I guess the MAPS DUL and other DULs consider the address range they are using to be dynamic. I know it is not a really big deal, I just thought it was nice to be able to go through the logs and trace outgoing mail directly to the recipient, but now it will just be handed off to Comcast's servers. >> Relay test 7 >>>>> RSET >> <<< 250 SMTP state reset >>>>> MAIL FROM: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> <<< 250 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> sender accepted >>>>> RCPT TO: <"[EMAIL PROTECTED]"> >> <<< 250 <"[EMAIL PROTECTED]"> recipient accepted >> relay accepted!! > Accepted does not mean delivered. You are right again. I do have the unknown account enabled, as my clients wanted to be able to catch all misaddressed mail and have it routed to their office manager, but apparently that is what is causing the problems with the relay testers. I am going to disable that for the time being so I can get off the blacklists and then take it from there. I guess I can add a bunch of router entries for the most common misspellings of their addresses. Just want to say, although this is not as busy a list as the EIMS list is, everyone here has been extremely helpful and generous with their responses and I for one really appreciate it. -- Gil Poulsen, Mac Wirehead ************************ [EMAIL PROTECTED] Consulting 23 Marco Polo Court Franklin Park, NJ 08823-1703 Voice: 732-940-1673 FAX: 732-940-1674 http://altimac.com ************************ ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
