Wasn't it Bill Cole <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> who once said... >>I apologize if this is off-topic for the SIMS list, but I'd like to get >>the opinion of other mail admins out there. >> >>I, like many of you, have been inundated with infected e-mails as a >>result of the Blaster worm. > >That's actually quite astounding, since it is Sobig, not Blaster, >which sends mail and is currently pounding me hard. > >(okay, so I'm being pedantic... it's hardly fair to expect people >using Macs to keep up with the arcana of whioch Microsoft worm is >which...)
I stand chagrined and chastised. I did indeed mean the "W32/[EMAIL PROTECTED]" worm, NOT the Blaster worm. I'm afraid that having Blaster, Sobig & Internet Explorer security-holes-that-Mac-trucks-can-drive-through has strained my brain this week. It's all I can do to keep up with patches and keep telling my users, "No, it's NOT okay to open e-mail attachments without first running your virus scanner!" My apologies for any confusion I may have caused. ================================================ | Doug Starkey | | Network Administrator | | Pecan Deluxe Candy Company | | 2570 Lone Star Drive | | Dallas, TX 75212-6308 | | e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | voice: 214-631-3669 Ext. 108 | | fax: 214-631-5833 | ================================================ ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
