It appears Road Runner has in the last few weeks put in a policy where they blacklist any IP addresses with a reverse DNS that is in a "residential" range.
For some reason, my business DSL connection is falling into that range, or at least Road Runner believes it to be so (Covad is the ISP). So now I have to call my ISP to find out what the heck is going on so my mail servers will stop being blacklisted by Road Runner. As long as I am calling them, I am going to try and see if they will give me a proper reverse DNS entry for my mail server (not likely, but it can't hurt to ask). So my question to the list is: What would I want the rDNS to be? My regular dns is mail.mythtech.net with SIMS having a "Main Domain Name" entry of mythtech.net So which would I want as my rDNS? And should the two entries I have now match (ie: should I change SIMS to mail.mythtech.net to match the DNS entry that points to the machine). It probably won't matter as I'm sure Covad isn't going to be willing to give me a custom rDNS entry, but I figured I should have the correct answers ready in case the person I get on the line decides to do it. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
