As far as I know, classic is fine running lots of server software, but for me the problems arise when I run all my personal software at the same time - it eats up too much RAM, ties up the CPU, and while server software is usually rock solid, personal stuff I run will crash and so I end up needing to reboot :P The Mac does not crash if I'm not using it directly (i.e. sat at it - there are no crashes if I'm accessing it remotely), except it sometimes drops into this weird sleep state. > Sure, running SIMS on it works great, but in my experience simply running SIMS > and NetPreszenz made the machine far less stable. Netpresenz by itself was > fine as well. Well, NetPresenz to me was just a royal pain in the ass (including trying to type its name - I see we both have trouble with that :P) - its reliance on File Sharing is a lost cause, as File Sharing is way too slow on this Mac (StarMax 4000/200) :P I'm currently using, as server software, SIMS, Rumpus, and MacHTTP, along with MacASP and error acgi. Plus all manner of other stuff like several browsers, MP3 players, various client apps (mail/Web/IM), and even SIDPLAY at the moment. Someone on the MacHTTP list put it down to display sleep affecting the Internet connection, although I had it go funny earlier even after turning that off - might need a reboot first, though, but if not, then I still don't know what it's up to. ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
