Hello,
I maintain a small web and mail server for our school. Sims has been working perfectly for a number of years now and has had very few problems. Local mail is working fine, but since most of the teachers have email addresses provided by the state and our mail server is located on a connection provided by our local cable company we are not getting mail. Below is a bit of the log that I believe contains relevant information. If anyone can point me in the right direction it will be very much appreciated.
I think you've diagnosed the problem correctly: it looks like that SIMS machine can't do any name resolution. Fix the DNS settings in the TCP/IP control panel to point at functional nameservers and all should be well.
