2) how do I confirm that it is up and running.
Log in to http://youripaddress:8010 and enter your id and password, if you can remember that.
Then go to the logs.
Alternatively, go to System Folder=>SIMS folder=>Logs and see a) if there's a current log and b) does it show your emails going out.
