I've done this testing in the past. I know that as of 1.8b8, SIMS will allow SMTP Authentication regardless of if the Advertise Auth is checked or not. The only thing that check box appears to change is it adds the Auth banners to the EHLO welcome message. Without those banners, some email clients will not attempt SMTP Auth. BUT, the SMTP Auth is still active even without those banners, so if you use a client that doesn't care if they are present or not (like a spammers client), then SMTP Auth is still available. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
