My SIMS Mac was recently unreachable for 8 hours or so due to ISP network problems. The backup server still has four messages that should have been sent to my SIMS box but shows them failed after only 2, 4, 8 and 14 attempts respectively.
SMTP is set to retry every 30 minutes for 100 attempts total.
