The big follow up questions are: Does SIMS handle this mangled message normally (yes I think)I should clarify this. When I attempt to delete this on message from the server, using Eudora on the Mac, the part of the header about the null character is deleted, but not the rest of the message. If you select "Delete all messages that have been retrieved" it still doesn't kill the (remainder) of the message. Every time you check email a new copy of the message redownloads, and the only way to get rid of it is to select: "Delete all mail from the server" option or to have never selected leave mail on the server in the first place.
It's vexing...
