Milosevic is being killed slowly and systematical

Belgrade (dpa) - The attorney of imprisoned former Yugoslav president
Slobodan Milosevic accused Belgrade authorities Tuesday of "slowly and
systematically killing" his client.

The condition of Milosevic had worsened significantly, attorney Toma Fila
said Tuesday in Belgrade.

Fila once again demanded Milosevic's release from custody, the news agency
FoNet reported. Fila offered a payment on behalf of Milosevic of 400,000
German Marks (180,000) as bail.

Milosevic suffers from high blood pressure, angina pectoris and hypertrophy
of the left heart chamber, said his attorney.

The former dictator was arrested April 1 on charges of abuse of office, and
is in custody in Belgrade.
