Super-intelligent humans developed using drugs and genetic manipulation could do just as well. Another thing that would be interesting in the field of biological intelligence enhancement would be the implementation of some form of "telepathy" (in the lack of a better word) - some way of transmitting information from brain to brain that would be at the same time more accurate and with far larger bandwidth than (spoken and written) words. That would allow processing networks of (super)human brains far superior than the Internet (which I see as a brain-network of sorts mediated by a computer network).
