I have the sinking feeling that this is going to be one of those memes that's quite immune to both reality and reason; as fast as it's refuted in one variant it pops up again in another. Let's recap:
1) I pointed out why the idea of actual warfare between Singularitarians and Luddites is ridiculous.
2) It was proposed maybe what was meant was war between Singularitarian and Luddite nations. I pointed out this is quite contrary to fact.
3) Now it's being proposed what's meant is brief, local (_not_ global) fighting by Luddites against the regular police and army (_not_ Singularitarians, transhumanists or whatnot) over purely economic issues (_not_ the "Singularity").
Yes, such an event occurred. Will it happen again? Maybe. Does that constitute anything remotely resembling global warfare between "Cosmists" and "Terrans"? No.
*sighs and waits for the next strain*
