Hi,

According to SIP RFC and SDP RFC:

When endpoint A sends its set of available codecs (1,2,3) in session
description part (SDP) in INVITE to endpoint B and B sends its session
decscription selecting the codecs, which B supports from the codecs in A's
session description (for instance 1,2), the codecs 1,2 become the set agreed
between the endpoints.

It seems to me that if endpoint B wants to change from the default codec 1
to codec 2 which belongs to the agreed set, there is no need to inform A
about the codec change with re-INVITE. I would like to know if this is true
or if there is implementations making re-Invitation in this kind of
situation.

Best Regards Tuula Korpela
