Not exactly.
You can probably use OPTIONS as a replacement for LRQ.
If you receive a 200, the end user to which OPTIONS was sent
exists. You can *not*, however, get the current location of the
user, if the intermediate server proxies the message instead of
redirecting.

In SIP there is no need for GRQ;
for the SIP URL's host portion gives the address
to be contacted for making a call.
In H.323, you can not find the server address just by looking at
the destination address (URL).

multicast REGISTER is probably closest to GRQ/RRQ sequence.
