Thats a matter of local implementation. If you want the user to accept or
reject this invitation, you should alert them somehow.

If the called user accepts the invitation, yes.

That is probably the correct behavior.

Establishing time bound sessions this way is really only useful for loosely
coupled multicast sessions, I would suspect. For these loosely coupled
conferences, there is not a need to explicitly indicate to the caller that
the callee has joined the session. They simply join the group. No need to
send a BYE, either, in fact.
This is the original application for SIP.
