>> See this paragraph from RFC 2543 >> The Retry-After general-header field can be used with a 503 (Service >> Unavailable) response to indicate how long the service is expected to >> be unavailable to the requesting client and with a 404 (Not Found), <snip> I have the new bis-02 draft (November 24,2000 ; Expires April 2001) and it clearly states (in the above mentioned paragraph) that Retry-After is a *response* header field. Is it that you are referring to a more recent version of the draft where the change was incorporated ? While we are at it, i would like to raise another general query : Quite often on the list issues are raised, and finally resolved with Jonathan/Henning mentioning that they have added a line/remark clearing the same in the draft. Similarly, the new record-route text was brought up, discussed and issues were resolved. What i want to know is whether there is some kind of online version of the draft that is constantly updated with these changes/new texts so that it makes our task as implementors easy when we are faced with the same issues.
