[moved to the SIP implementors list!!]

Please, please, please start posting on the correct list.
Repeatedly choosing the wrong one makes it unlikely
that you will receive any further helpful responses.

Send "newbie" questions about SIP to SIP-implementors

After the initial request, and it's reponse, have passed
between the 2 end points they have enough information
about each other be able to exchange further requests
directly. This information is present in the Contact
header of the INVITE and 200 responses. If a proxy wants
to stay on the signalling path it adds an entry to the
Record-Route header when proxying.
