I hadn't participated in the WG discussion, but heard they were working on
allowing parameters in the user portion or the URL. Anybody know the
outcome of that? If it is going to be allowed, is the semicolon the
separator or what?

I think the above sip URL is wrong. The string
(;[EMAIL PROTECTED];user=phone) after ';' is the url parameters, not
the host portion.
