Hi,

I have a couple of questions may be somebody could clarify them.

In bis-03 it's said that maddr parameter of Via header is required if
the request was send via multicast. That means that a proxy server
sending a request to a multicast group must add maddr parameter. But
what should the maddr value contain?
Should it be the address of multicast group where the request is sending
to? Then the proxy server must join to this group to receive a response
but it seems to be ineffective.
Or should it be the address of the proxy server? But how may a next hop
server determinate that the request had been already sent to this
multicast group (in order to confirm 17.3.1)?
Or situation when proxy server have to forward request to a multicast
group is impossible at all.

And another question. Server must not answer to multicast request with a
status code other than 2xx, 401, 407, 484, 6xx. Does it mean that server
must not send provisional responses so it's possible that a client will
retransmit the multicast request 7/11 times? As I understand it's
supposed behavior for CANCEL request but is it correct for other
requests?

Thanks,
Alex
